Hypnosis can help in sports psychology by using mental imagery to see a future goal, and help to reinforce self confidence and motivation.  You can overcome your mental blocks and maintain focus on success, strategy, and other outcomes.  Hypnosis is also used to remember a time when you achieved a sporting goal, like winning a championship game.  The emotion that you felt at such a proud moment is then anchored into your memory, which can bring about “muscle memory” and create a reflex.  Also it is helpful to use “modeling,” in which you follow the motions of someone who is successful both physically and mentally at their sport.  By acting like a top sportsman, you may actually become one.
